Are you politically correct?

Hello to everyone out there who thinks we need to be kind and tolerant to one another!

My name is Nora and I am one of the founders of Make a Point – a brand that aims to transform fashion into a statement by offering a new platform for individual expression.

To make a point of the things that matter in life is a personal goal for me. I try to remind myself of it daily. Visualizing certainly helps. On my work desk, I do have the notes, pictures and mugs -all with the “right”, sometimes funny and sometimes motivative, messages to remind me of values that tend to fade in the busy working hours. But one daily companion successfully follows me step by step and not only reminds me, but also makes a point to others around me.

Can you guess? It´s my Make a Point backpack with its interchangeable flaps.

Maybe I am biased, but I haven´t had a better “messenger” yet.

This month my bag and I carry the message “political correctness”. Correctness is something I take seriously, but I have decided to cross out the “political”, because I find it misleading. Misleading because it suggests an imposed norm (rule) and not an intrinsic human value, we need to accentuate.

Some might argue that set rules to “make” you act correctly, will bring tolerance to the world. My standpoint differs. I believe, like Stephan Fry who paraphrases Yevgeny Zamyatin, that “progress is not achieved by guardians of morality but by madmen, hermits, heretics, dreamers, rebels, and skeptics.” Read more here.

I am eager to hear your opinion. Write me a comment below or an email at
